Diarmuid began this journey by suggesting he and his close friend Lukas take advantage of a serendipitous year in which they were both pursuing graduate degrees at Yale by starting a podcast that interprets global news from an Irish lens. Lukas leapt at the idea and became the creative mastermind, while Diarmuid delved deep into research and drew topics from world news for them to discuss.

The podcast had 14 successful episodes before Lukas graduated and packed his bags to return home to Ireland. Diarmuid, inspired by what they had accomplished and the positive feedback, further developed the concept by creating a blog and this website, the latter of which will act as a home for future iterations of his reflections and commentary on world news from an Irish lens.

This website is operated and maintained by Diarmuid. Podcast episodes from 1-14 were jointly produced by Lukas and Diarmuid.
